We don't charge for site inspections and quotes, but completing an enquiry form prior to SPE visiting is required.
Cost estimates are not provided over the phone.

Due to a combination of rapidly evolving technology and setbacks with the global supply chain SPE pre-orders with a range of wholesalers to secure stock and be specific in our quotes about certain products. If months pass from quoting to the day of install, however, a specific panel may understandably no longer be available. While this means
the plan that was quoted for is changed, it often works out well for clients - a 400w panel for instance will getreplaced by a newer 415w module at a similar price point.

A 50% deposit is required by SPE to secure stock. In the Solar Industry it’s standard for the labour:materials
breakdown to be 15:85. SPE relies on Australia’s residential solar rebate and the government processing time of this
can sometimes result in payment weeks after an install is finished. SPE can deliver the available ordered stock to site as soon as payment is made.

SPE does not do rush-jobs and we’re a small company. We are a Clean Energy Council accredited designer/installer and our staff take their time to do a quality job. Timelines will be outlined in your quote and you'll be guaranteed the workmanship will last the life of the system.

Finn Peacock from Solar Quotes puts together a good article on Solar 101. He suggests the following as a guide:
5kW: $4,500 – $8,000
6.6kW: $5,500 – $9,000
10kW: $8,000 – $13,000
Add 20% for an optimised system (and steer clear of cheap systems, they'll cost you more in the long run).

If the person selling you a system doesn't do an inspection in person, be prepared for unexpected costs or
variations to be put on you the day of installation. This estimation is based on an Electrician/Apprentice/Labourer setup.
